Job Description

Summary

  • The Chaplain is responsible as a member of the interdisciplinary team for the coordination, implementation, and the delivery of the spiritual services to the patient's/family's desire and belief system and consistent with the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Must have completed 1 unit of CPE units. (Clinical Pastoral Education unit) Must be willing to work when needed, nights or weekends in the event of an emergent patient care need or critical incident situation. Must have computer experience to navigate EPIC documentation requirements.
  • ***Primary shift is M-F, 1st shift, 4 hours daily over 5 days. Must be willing to travel to Pen Bay Medical Center when needed for emergent needs only.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Master's degree in Counseling or Divinity, or the Equivalent Chaplaincy Training Program Accredited by the American Chaplain's Association (ACA). Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) - one (1) unit required, (four (4) units preferred).
    • License/Certifications: Ordained and/or licensed within a recognized denomination as a pastoral counselor or minister.
    • Experience: Demonstrated experience in working with patient's/families dealing with life-threatening illness and death.
    • Demonstrated ability to be open, sensitive, flexible and ecumenical.
